Saparagamu Maha Saman Devalaya

This temple is located near the town of Ratnapura in the Ratnapura District which belongs to the Sabaragamuwa Province.  This temple is dedicated to Lord Suman Saman.  It was created by King Prarakramabahu II during the reign of Gampola.  Minister Aryakamadeva arrives in Ratnapura to seek wealth to fill state treasuries during the Gampola period.  Although gem mining was started, there was no benefit from it. Saman came to the temple and made a vow to the goddess Saman.  Pleased with this, they create this temple to fulfill their vow to Goddess Saman

With the construction of the Saman Devalaya, a very complex division of duties related to the Devalaya can be seen.  The Esala Perahera of this Devalaya is held every year.  The procession will last for 16 days. This is a temple that is famous among the people for its beautiful procession.  As soon as any trouble befalls me, I come to Pin Bima and surrender to God.
